Judge Justin L. Bartels dealt with the following cases Jan. 27-Feb.25:
Wesley Daniel Romero, 18, pleaded guilty to tobacco possession or consumption, under 18 years old, first offense.
This citation was issued in November 2008. Romero also pleaded guilty to criminal contempt. He was found guilty on both charges, sentenced to six months in jail with 172 days suspended, fined $35 plus $85 in court costs.
Elizabeth Rectenwald, 29, forfeited a $20 bond for a seatbelt violation.
Caleb Gordon Hoeldt, 28, pleaded guilty to operating without liability insurance in effect, second offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 10 days in jail with all suspended, fined $350, and charged $35 in court costs.
Walter Briggs, age unknown, pleaded guilty to theft, first offense. He was found guilty and sentenced to six months in jail with all suspended, fined $60, and charged $85 in court costs.
Julie Smith, 41, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. She was found guilty and sentenced to 180 days in jail with 175 suspended and credited for five days. She was also fined $100 plus $35 in court costs.
Janelle Kuechle, 62, forfeited a $20 bond for speeding, driving 35 mph in a posted 25 mph zone.
