Editor,
The very good news, it seems to me, is this: seeing the Rupert Murdoch empire collapsing proves once again the ultimate collective power for good over the blatantly manipulative power of one man's empire ruled by greed, fear and personal control.
I had a good chuckle out of the thought that having just celebrated America's Declaration of Independence on July 4, that for years now our nation has been in the media clutches of Rupert Murdoch, who owns both our Wall Street Journal and Fox News. And how much money have we borrowed from China? Hmmm.
Oh, yes, the Murdoch investigation is just in its early stages and there will be reams of paper and hours of political palaver, some of it even tying Obama into it, before something else like some infidelity affair comes along to knock Rupert off the front pages.
But in the meantime, it is refreshing to me to see how the drumbeat of righteousness ultimately triumphs over sleaziness and greed.
