Republican Rep. Regier of Kalispell sponsored HB 167 criminalizing abortion. When voicing support for his bill he stated that ranchers refer to their open (unbred) cattle as “cull cows.” His statement inferring that a bred female has more value than an unbred one is degrading to all women. I have been in the ranching business all of my life and have heard many things that are unrepeatable, but this is the most reprehensible and crude comparison of cattle and women I have ever heard.
Rep. Regier, you should be ashamed of yourself and you owe women everywhere an apology for your degrading remarks!
