Editor,
Are you tired of hearing complaints about people who are different from us “mainstream” folks?
They may differ from us in many ways—dress, choice of foods, where they worship, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation or gender, leisure activities, political party, or opinions, just to name a few.
It takes all of us to make the world around us function. Outdoors people, researchers, businessmen, laborers, singers, poets, computer programmers, writers, ranchers and technicians. Our many differences make us stronger — not weaker.
The Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition has been encouraging people to reach out and embrace the differences in our community for over 20 years. We are currently looking for people who have open minds and are interested in social justice issues to serve on our board of directors or help with programming. For more information call 745-4259 and ask for Cathy or 824-2821 and talk with Tammy. Make a difference in your community.
