ST. IGNATIUS –  It was a tough day for the Mission Rockies as they returned from a brief hiatus on the field due to end of year school functions. The team played against the defending Babe Ruth League Champions, the Missoula Pioneers. The game was called early in the seventh inning due to the 10-run margin rule, as the Rockies fell to the Pioneers 15-4.

The Rockies were able to prevent the Pioneers from scoring during the first inning, but the League champions exploded in the second, third, and fourth innings to lead 15-0.

The Rockies offense finally broke through during the bottom of the sixth. Players rallied to put up four runs, but it was too late in the game, as the team fell 15-4.

For the Rockies, Dakota Matt led all batters, hitting 3 for 4, while Kurt Sidel and Jacen Peterson added a pair of hits in the loss.

Adler Sherrow went 2 for 4 with four RBIs for the Pioneers, while Ben Metz went 2 for 3 with three RBIs. Zach Sandua finished with one hit and two RBIs, while teammate Jordan Schafer finished with one RBI.
