Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following cases Wednesday, June 1:
Gerard Francis Blackcrow, 39, Billings, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 10 years with five suspended for revocation on a suspended sentence for aggravated burglary and robbery, both felonies. His 1996 suspended sentence was revoked on June 1.
According to court documents, charges date back to February 1996 when police were called to a trailer court in Pablo where a man had entered to commit robbery. Two men also came in and one, Gerard Blackcrow, stabbed the resident. One round was fired into the bedroom wall after a gun was pointed at the resident’s wife’s head. It was later confirmed that Gerard Blackcrow had stabbed the male resident.
Ronee D. Martin, 22, Pablo, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 10 years with five and one half years suspended. The court specifically requests Martin be considered for placement in an outpatient chemical dependency program if it meets with the approval of DOC.
Her six-year suspended sentence for issuing a bad check, a felony, was revoked April 6 for violating probation by abusing prescription drugs.
Marvin Camel, 31, Ronan, pleaded not guilty to assault on a minor, a felony. The court denied the defendant’s request to reduce bail and kept it set in the amount of $20,000. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, October 10 at 9 a.m. and a jury trial is set to begin Monday, October 17, at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a May 20 incident where tribal police were called to a Charlo residence. The woman said Camel was riding in the backseat of her car with her 5-year-old son when Camel began to play “very roughly” with the child, holding the child’s hands and hitting the child’s head against the window. She said Camel put his hands around the boy’s neck and was choking him. The boy was struggling to breathe and gasping for air, according to the mother. She begged Camel to stop but she said he called the child names and then bit the child’s arm. The officer observed scratch marks on the boy’s neck and a bite mark on his arm.
John Hendrickx, 42, Ronan, admitted committing an amended offense of driving while under the influence to alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony. The court accepted the plea and found Hendrickx guilty. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, July 6 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a January 1 incident where Hendrickx was arrested in Ronan for driving under the influence of alcohol. His driving recorded showed three prior DUI convictions.
Thomas Robertson, 39, Missoula, admitted committing and amended offense of criminal endangerment, a felony. The court accepted the plea and found Robertson guilty. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, July 6 at 9 a.m.
According to court records, charges stem from a December 2010 incident when an Arlee resident called police to report that two intoxicated men had come to his house looking for gasoline because they had run out of gas and were trying to get their car going. The Arlee resident stated he was concerned about the prospect of either of them driving. A Highway Patrol officer found Robertson’s vehicle near the residence and after checking Robertson’s history, the officer found that Robertson’s driver’s license was suspended and he had three prior DUI convictions. When Robertson returned to the vehicle, a preliminary breath test revealed Robertson’s blood alcohol content was .261 and he was arrested.
Steven Scholten, 41, Charlo, admitted committing an amended offense of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a felony. The court accepted the plea and found Scholten guilty. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, July 13 at 9 a.m.
According to court records, charges stem from a January 8 incident following a 911 call stating a teal-colored Jeep was driving all over the road and traveling south on Highway 93 through Ronan. A Ronan police officer observed the Jeep having a difficult time maintaining his lane, and pulled over the Jeep, driven by Scholten, in the Town Pump parking lot.
The officer noted Scholten had slurred speech, difficulty maintaining his balance, and noted the smell of marijuana in the Jeep. Results of an HGN test indicated Scholten was under the influence, and results of a breath test showed Scholten’s blood alcohol level at .180. During this processing, Scholten admitted drinking four or five beers and smoking marijuana.
A bag with a green leafy substance was found under the console in the Jeep.
Scholten did not have a Montana driver’s license, and his record showed three prior DUI convictions in Michigan.
Cody Greenfield, 27, Great Falls, had his 2002 assault with a weapon suspended sentence revoked for violating probation. He was then sentenced to the Department of Corrections for five years with no part suspended. Greenfield may be considered for placement in pre-release provided it meets with the approval of the DOC.
According to court documents, the probation violation occurred March 19 when Greenfield was arrested in Polson for getting into a fight at South Shore Lounge. A breath sample provided by Greenfield registered .165 percent BAC.
Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following case Thursday, June 2:
Xavier Streets, 17, St. Ignatius, was designated a Level 1 sexual offender, and must register as a sexual offender in the event he violates probations and his six-year deferred sentence is revoked. Although a minor, Streets was tried as an adult.
According to court documents, charges stem from an August 2010 incident where detectives followed up on a report of a five-year-old who Streets had babysat more than a year earlier who said Streets had made her do things consistent with oral sex.
