Editor,
On behalf of the Arlee Schools Friday Free Three enrichment program, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the Arlee community for all of your support.
The Friday Free Three program has been a success for the past two years, and we couldn’t have done it without the awesome community involvement that we have received.
When I call upon our community neighbors to help out with specific events held throughout the school year, you are always right there and happy to help out. For example, when the students come caroling during the holidays, Arlee local businesses are especially receptive and generous to the students. You show the kids respect and joy by listening to them sing and offering them a treat. The kids love to go caroling and we hope to continue this special event in the years to come.
We took a field trip to the Arlee Post Office and it was so interesting and the kids loved it. Personally, I liked seeing what the post office looked like behind all those mailboxes.
This past April we held our first Career Vehicle Fair and once again, our community came through.
We had three vehicles from the Arlee Volunteer Fire Department, a tow truck and school bus from the Rice family, a police car from Arlee Schools SRO Officer Nate Lundeen, a semi-truck owned and operated by Arlee’s own Michael Wieler and many more. The kids loved this and even though the weather on this day was dreadful they were all into the “big rigs.”
I would also like to thank the parents and families of the students who participate in the FF3 events. Thank you for bringing your students to each event. Thank you for staying and having fun with us. Thank you for volunteering to help out when you can. Thank you for taking time to support this great program.
The FF3 program, as I mentioned, is an enrichment program, and involving the community is very important to the enrichment of our youth.
I am so very grateful to the wonderful community of Arlee for taking an interest in our youth, and helping out with so many youth oriented events. You all are awesome.
