Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Aug. 24:

Nathaniel Erwin Bird, 25, Polson, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for two years. Bird’s suspended sentence for partner or family member assault, a felony, was revoked on July 20 after Bird admitted he failed to keep terms of parole and probation by not making fine or fee payments; failing to complete chemical dependency, mental health or domestic violence programs since he was placed on probation; and being arrested after causing a disturbance at a Polson business.

Byron Alexander Johnson, 27, Dayton, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections, per a plea agreement for accountability (theft), a felony, for five years with no part suspended. Although Johnson requested a stay of execution of his sentence, the court denied it.

According to court documents, charges stem from an October 2008 incident where Johnson took two Apple computers from a home in Polson and then sold them to someone else.

Deidre Bush, 30, Polson, was sentenced per a plea agreement to 20 days in Lake County Jail for driving with excessive alcohol concentration, a misdemeanor. For violating a child restraint law, a misdemeanor, Bush was fined a total of $185. On a felony criminal endangerment charge, Bush deferred the sentence for six years but ordered 10 days house arrest within six months of sentencing.

According to court documents, charges stem from a February 2 incident where a bartender in Polson called dispatch to let them know that a woman, who had been drinking at the bar for two hours and “acting buzzed,” was driving out of the parking lot with a very small child in her lap. The child allegedly had been left in the vehicle while Bush was in the bar, and the outside temperature was about 10 degrees Fahrenheit at the time.

Leonard Irvine, 56, Ronan, was sentenced per a plea agreement to the Department of Corrections for 25 years with 15 suspended for criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, a felony.

According to court documents, charges stem from incidents that took place between the summer of 2010 and spring 2011 involving several 14-to-16-year old Ronan High School girls. Irvine, known to the girls as “Uncle Leonard,” allegedly provided alcohol, cigarettes, and a variety of drugs to the girls on numerous occasions. He was arrested in March at the Gardener Apartments on Main Street in Ronan.

Douglas James Carnell, 29, St. Ignatius, pleaded not guilty to failure to register, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. and a jury trial is set for Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. Carnell is designated as a Level I sex offender.

Lecrecia Marie Barrows, 21, Polson, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Barrows remains at liberty. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m. and jury trial for Dec. 5 at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, charges stem from a January 31 incident where Barrows was arrested on outstanding Polson City Courts warrants. During the search, a short piece of drinking straw was found in Barrows’ pocket with a white powdery residue on the outside. Barrows admitted using “meth” all weekend. The straw was sent to the state crime lab where it tested positive for methamphetamine and hydrocodone.

Joseph A. Antiste, 50, Polson, pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony. Antiste remains at liberty. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Nov. 2 and jury trial is set for Jan. 3, 2012. The court also removed Antiste’s SCRAM bracelet and denied the state’s request for  $10,000 bond.

According to court documents, charges stem from a July 31 incident where Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call from a woman who said her husband was trying to throw her from a vehicle. The Ford Explorer was located on Highway 93 near Big Arm, and Antiste emerged from the driver’s seat when pulled over. The officer noted the smell of alcohol on Antiste’s breath and that he was swaying. When Antiste admitted he had been drinking, he was taken to the Lake County Detention Center where a breath sample registered .183 percent.

Amber Roundine, 23, St. Ignatius, admitted committing an amended offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. The court accepted the plea and found Roundine guilty.

Sentencing is set for Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, a Vicodin pill was found in Roundine’s possession after she was arrested for shoplifting on January 12. Roundine claimed she had a prescription for Lortab, which was confirmed by her doctor’s nurse. However, the amount of hydrocodone in the Vicodin pill did not match the dose in the Lortab prescribed in February 2010.
