Editor,
On Jan. 27th and 28, the Ronan Middle School drama students put on a play titled “From Sea to Shining Sea.” Unfortunately, I was unable to go to the play and was quite disappointed. Luckily for me, I work at the school and was able to go to a special showing of the play that was put on for the middle school students and staff. I didn’t know what to expect from the play but knew it would most likely be something along the patriotic line. All I can say is, “Wow.” I am so proud of the students who were involved in the play; they did a wonderful job and made many teachers, and I’m sure a few students, cry. What a great walk through our nation’s history by talented young men and women.
The play was funny, moving, and made me proud to be an American, which is I’m sure what the intent was. But even more than those emotions, it made me proud to be a teacher in a school with such outstanding students. These kids worked incredibly hard and should be extremely proud of their performance. I only wish every community member had the chance to see it (I did hear CDs of the performance can be purchased at the school). Congratulations drama students; you did a great job and I’m so proud of you.
