ST. IGNATIUS — At the Feb. 7 city council meeting, Mayor Charles Gariepy appointed Rick Newman to the Lake County Joint Airport Board, Hoss Frazzini as fire chief, and Willy Long as assistant fire chief. Gariepy will arrange interviews with applicants for the city attorney position before making an appointment. He also officially appointed Aaron Frank as police chief. Frank has served as acting chief since Dec. 6.
Long had concerns about the town dogcatcher, Susan Dodson, and felt she was not effectively controlling dogs in town.
He said he continues to see numerous dogs running at large, especially on Main Street. Dodson fell on the ice about two weeks ago and is under doctor’s orders to stay out of the animal control vehicle for a couple of weeks.

“We are working on filing charges against one individual now,” Lapotka said.
