Editor,
I really thought the article about Connie’s Countryside Café was good, and I wish her all the best. I know she’s worked hard to establish her business.
However, there’s been a chapter left out of the story. My husband and I bought the café on May 1, 1978, from the Stevens. We sold our home and all we had, packed up three children and plunged right into the restaurant business. We were there for 14 years until we sold it to Joe Brooks on May 1, 1992. There was a lot to learn, and through hard work and perseverance, we did it. Along the way, we got to know quite a few people in the Valley and managed to make a few friends along the way.
There must have been a typing error when it said it was purchased by Connie on April 1, 1985, because we were still there. Anyway, we do wish Connie a successful journey and strength along the way.
