Arlee boys, girls to face Superior teams for district titles

RONAN — The Arlee Warriors and Scarlets will play the Superior Bobcats and Lady 'cats for the 14-C district basketball titles Saturday night. The girls' game is at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:45.
The Warriors won their second game of the District 14-C tournament Friday night at the Ronan Event Center, and the Arlee Scarlets remain undefeated after a hard-fought victory over Hot Springs. The Warriors beat Noxon 55-33, led by senior Christian Haynes' 18-point effort and 10 more points from senior point guard Zack Camel. Haynes also turned in nine rebounds, while Patrick Bigsam had seven.
The Scarlets and the Lady Savage Heat were neck-and-neck until the fourth quarter, when Arlee pulled away with a 20-14 scoring run, winning 53-49. Violet Pablo bolstered her team to the win with 15 points and six rebounds, followed by Tayla Desjarlais with 14 points.
