EUREKA — A Maiden softball team hungry to continue its winning streak wasted no time trouncing the Lady Lions in both halves of a May 1 doubleheader in Eureka. Ronan’s Jasmine Bocksnick went 3 for 3 in both games, with three doubles and an RBI in the opener and another double and two RBIs in the second game. Pitcher Bethany Colman and Payge Delaurenti also each had RBIs in the first game, while from the circle, Colman allowed seven hits.

After they warmed up in round one, the Maidens couldn’t be stopped and crushed the Lady Lions 11-0 in five innings due to the 10-run margin rule. Freshman hurler Samantha Colman threw the complete game, holding Eureka to just four hits.

The Maidens hosted Drummond Tuesday before heading to Deer Lodge Thursday and facing Troy at home at 2 p.m. Saturday.
