VALLEY VIEW — The Valley View clubhouse was chock full of children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins for the Valley View Elementary School Christmas program.
After a potluck dinner, kindergarten, first and second grade students sang “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth” and played “Deck the Halls” on their kazoos.
The smallest students remained on stage, joined by the grades three through six for “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” complete with a live partridge-in-a-pear-tree.
Through a great classroom grant from Plum Creek, third through sixth graders have been studying the guitar. After school coordinator Mary Sale applied for the grant, and Jon Davis was hired to teach 14 kids how to play the guitar.
They showed their burgeoning skills with “Three Blind Mice,” “Troubadour” and “Jingle Bells.”
The evening ended with a surprise visit from Santa.
