The Ronan Chiefs started their season with a win over Whitefish and loss to Frenchtown in a weekend tip-off tournament held in Hamilton and Corvallis.
On Friday, the Chiefs won a hard-fought game against the Whitefish Bulldogs, 59-56. Kollin Wroblewski led Ronan in scoring with 15 points, adding six rebounds and two steals. Dallas Jore added 11 points, five rebounds and six assists, while Carston Baertsch had 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists and one steal. Alex Quequesah and Zachary Wagner contributed eight points apiece.
Ronan faced Northwestern A Frenchtown on Saturday, falling 74-48. Wagner led the Chiefs in scoring with 12 points, also contributing four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Quequesah put up nine points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals. Wroblewski had eight points, followed by Daniel Aylesworth with seven.
The Chiefs travel to Florence Friday and host Eureka Saturday.
