  News from CSKT Fire Division

FLATHEAD RESERVATION - The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes have three active fires to date.   The fire danger on the Flathead Indian Reservation is at HIGH. Let’s eliminate human-caused fires! Be Outdoor Safe and remember One Less Spark.

The Hewolf Fire is a Type 4 incident located 7 miles southwest of Ravalli. This lightning caused fire is 15 acres and burning in timber and grass with downed fuel. There are Division of Fire Overhead, Air Attack, 2 Type 1 Helicopters, 1 Type 2 Hand Crew, 1 DOF Dozer, 2 Single Engine Air Tankers (S.E.A.T.s), 2 Skidgens, and 2 Tenders working the blaze. There are no closures, and no structures are threatened. 

The 2600 Road Fire is located 5 miles southwest of Ravalli.  This lightning caused fire is burning in timber and grass. Firefighters were able to get on this fire quick in the early morning, after it ignited and contain it.  There are no closures, and no structures are threatened. 

The Pine Haven Fire is located 2 miles south of St. Ignatius. This lightning caused fire was all grass. St. Ignatius Rural Engines were able to catch this fire.  

The Incident 67 Fire is located 11 miles west of Arlee in steep, rocky terrain in downed fuel. Firefighters will engage in direct attack operations where it is safe to do so, while assessing opportunities to construct control line. One Type 1 Helicopter is supporting ground forces. There are no closures, and no structures are threatened.
