News from the Lake County Conservation District
HOT SPRINGS - The Lake County Conservation District is excited to announce that Hot Springs High School senior, Nick McAllister, has been selected as the recipient of their annual scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior demonstrating a strong interest in Conservation, Natural Resources, or Agriculture.
Nick is a well-rounded student with an impressive record of academic and extracurricular accomplishments. Throughout his academic career, he has consistently demonstrated the qualities the conservation district seeks to foster. Citing his innovative use of drone technology in agricultural settings, the scholarship committee remarked that Nick, “clearly is a young man capable of adapting to many different situations and finding something positive, interesting and/or motivating in each.”
Beyond academics, Nick has been deeply involved in the agricultural community, participating in Future Farmers of America (FFA) as well as events and projects that promote sustainability and awareness in the local community. His commitment to agriculture is matched by his enthusiasm for sports, earning awards in football, basketball and track, and a variety of hobbies that reflect his adventurous and diverse nature.
Looking ahead, Nick plans to attend Montana State University Northern, where he’ll pursue a degree in Agricultural Tech. Lake County Conservation District extends warm congratulations to Nick McAlister for this achievement and wishes him every success at MSU Northern and beyond. They are confident his passion and adaptability will help him make a meaningful impact wherever he goes.
