POLSON - Fire season is upon us. Be careful with fireworks and campfires!
As the story goes, Elizabeth Willing Powel approached Benjamin Franklin on a street in Philadelphia after the signing of the Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and asked “Well Doctor, what have we got, a Republic or a Monarchy?” Ben replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it.” Stay awake. I woke up thinking about how to continue to protect our Republic.
Activities:
- AARP Safe Driving Course: Early sign-up requested. We have about a dozen more openings. Call us.
- Wednesday Play Day: cards, board games, kitchen table games, Dominoes. Invite a foursome - casual
- VSO (Veterans Service Officer:) first Friday (except July 4th) and the third Tuesday of each month 9 a.m.-noon. Walk-ins OK.
- Spinning Wheelers: first Tuesday of each month - 11 a.m.-1 p.m. - 208-520-1013
- Bingo: Fridays - closed July 4th - Wednesday, July 2, no card bingo - Wednesday, July 9, and 23, - card bingo
- Exercise: sit, stand or dance - M-W-F, 10:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. video-assisted - low impact
- Pinochle: Thursdays and Mondays: 12: 30-3 p.m. Early birds at noon - rotate partners
- Pool: open table from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
MENU (subject to change): lunch $5 donation served from 11:45 a.m-12:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 25: Chef salad with ham, turkey, cheese, hard roll, fluff, orange dream cake
- Thursday, June 26: Hawai’ian hot dog, pineapple salsa, Sauerkraut salad, mac-n-cheese, cookie
- Friday, June 27: birthday dinner for lunch - roast pork, potatoes, gravy, veggie medley, apple sauce, carrot cake
- Monday, June 30: butter bean and ham soup, egg salad sandwich, mixed green salad, fruit
- Tuesday, July 1: Goulash, corn, garlic bread, green salad, butterscotch butter balls
- Wednesday, July 2: BBQ chicken, steak fries, baked beans, coleslaw, key lime bars
- Thursday, July 3: burger with fixings, corn on cob, potato salad, red, white and blue fruit, cupcakes.
- Friday, July 4: (closed) Celebrate the independence of the U.S.A. from the King.
