News from Child Care Resources
MISSION VALLEY - Since 2007, Child Care Resources (CCR) has provided Summer Camp Scholarships to support families with school-age children who need full-time care during the summer months. This program was created after CCR recognized that families receiving Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarships often struggle to find developmentally appropriate child care once their children reach school age. Many all-day summer programs are not licensed child care facilities and therefore do not qualify for Best Beginnings funding.
To address this gap, CCR allocates funds each year for our Hand Up Summer Camp Scholarship Program. This scholarship is designed to help families who need full-time child care while school is out for the summer.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Families must meet the general eligibility guidelines for the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship.
- Children must have completed 1st grade by the start of summer.
- Priority is given to families needing full-time child care throughout the summer.
- Specialty camps of shorter duration may be considered on a case-by-case basis; funding for these is typically lower than for full-time programs.
Typical Scholarship Awards: up to $500 per child, maximum of $1,000 per family
Important Information:
- Funding is limited and available only to families within our service area
- Only online applications will be accepted and will be processed in the order they are received.
