Editor,
Is anyone else bothered by the lack of cleanup at the 7th & 7th east construction site in Polson? It looks pretty crappy. The project has been completed now for about 3 weeks. I waited about a week before sending an email to the City of Polson Public Works department, requesting to have the two staging areas on the south corners cleaned up a bit more and the ruts leveled out and also the excess clay and mud that was left along both north corners removed, as it is further blocking the drainage, in an area that has had drainage issues for years. I also requested the street sweeper come by and clean up the excess dirt and gravel that was left behind for about a half block in all directions. After about a week with no response or cleanup, I emailed another request letting them know my frustration of being ignored and that a letter to the editor might spark some attention. I got a response on May 5th telling me that it had been cleaned up, but they would take a look again. My best guess would be that it could be done in a day? Or maybe less? As of May 8th, nothing has been done. I guess the supervisor doesn’t live in my area and doesn’t have to see the mess on a daily basis. Just sayin’.
