BOZEMAN — An annual conference focused on professional development and networking opportunities for women is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, at Montana State University.
The MSU Women’s Leadership Conference, hosted by the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Strand Union Building ballrooms.
Registration is open and tickets are $150. The conference features breakout sessions and guest speakers. This year’s theme is “Authentic and Emerging Leadership.” The college uses proceeds from the conference to fund scholarships, which are awarded to students who have proven to be leaders and mentors both on and off campus.
Amanda McPherson will be the keynote speaker. She is an award-winning coach, speaker and published writer dedicated to empowering women. Through her online platform, “Girl, Get Your Roots Done,” McPherson shares insights and advice to help women navigate life’s ups and downs while remaining rooted in their values and sense of worth.
Other speakers and panelists have also dedicated their careers to empowering women in leadership, including: Megan Brummel of Wayfinders Leadership; Karen Lum, founder of K. Lum Consulting; Camille McKinney, a leadership coach and consultant; Cathy Mobley, principal and senior consultant at FMG Leading; Neely Myers, associate director at consulting firm KPMG; Shayla Preeshl, a brand and marketing strategist; and Karen McNenny, founder and CEO of URelate.
Additional details are available on the conference website.
Conference registration includes educational sessions, event materials, a networking reception, meals, a happy hour social and a silent auction. Up to 6.6 continuing professional education credits for CPAs are available.
The Women’s Circle of Excellence was created in 2006 by a group of MSU alumnae and business college staff. The first conference was held in 2008, coinciding with the 115th anniversary of the business college. The event has since been renamed the Women’s Leadership Conference.
