Share the Spirit is beginning its 15th year helping children from needy families with toys, clothes and gifts at Christmas. We are fortunate enough to partner with the Marine Toys for Tots program, which helps us manage the daunting task of providing for these children. In 2011, we served more than 1,100 children in Lake County, and we can use your help again this year. Our trees are going up all over the county in November, so if you see one, please take a tag off our tree for a child less fortunate and make their holiday brighter.
Started in 1998, Share the Spirit is a 501C3 tax-exempt organization run 100-percent by volunteers. This year, we will be working out of the old True Value Hardware building on First St. E. in Polson. We can always use more volunteers.
Share the Spirit Tree locations are: Glacier Bank; Lake County Leader Polson office; Walmart; Hanson and Granley Hardware; Community Banks in Polson and Ronan; Lake County Bank in St. Ignatius; Lake County Courthouse; St. Luke Hospital; Tribal Headquarters; Polson Family Chiropractic; Eagle Bank; St. Luke Hospital; and St. Joseph Medical Center. Applications are available until Dec. 5 at Lake County Office of Public Assistance, Lake County Health Department, WIC offices, Working Innovations, Job Services and Helping Hands.
