My name is Sarah Howell and I am a freshman at Polson High School. For a community serve project last summer, I helped coach the Mission Valley Soccer Camp. During this camp, I coached the preschool age group along with a few other high school and middle school students. Throughout this project, I accomplished my main goal: teaching young kids basic soccer skills. Every morning for a week in July, we would do different games that incorporated a variety of soccer skills to help the kids improve while still having fun.
Throughout this experience I have learned a lot about how to be a better leader and teacher. I have really enjoyed my opportunity to help with this camp, and I hope other people will get the same opportunity that I’ve had. Volunteering is a great asset to our community and we should cherish it.
