Editor,
Saturday, May 12, was the fourth annual Starving Artist’s Show and Sale at Willard’s Bar. Every year, we choose a charity and then, with the help of this awesome community, work to make it bigger and better than the previous year. We would like to thank all those who donated and bid in the silent auction. It was great fun, with a wide variety of items available.
Combined with the auction, we had a cash donation jar. Together we were able to give the charity we chose this year, The Bread Basket, $1,500 cash. Ronan not only opened their wallets, but also their pantries. We collected 438 pounds of non-perishable food for the cause. A special thanks for those who helped us get the word out about the annual event: Arnie’s Gas and Tire and Ronan Sports and Western for putting the event on their reader boards, and to Mission Mart and Pierce Chevy Dodge for including the show in their newspaper ads. We can’t tell you how much we appreciate it.
Thanks also to Willard for putting up with three slightly crazed artists taking over the bar, and spiffing the joint up for us.
