PABLO — After Dr. Luana Ross’ resignation as president of Salish Kootenai College, the search for a new president is on the horizon.
SKC Board Chairman Jim Durglo said the first steps will be to review the position’s job description, review advertisements and, as a board, schedule the advertisements and where and how broad of a net to cast.
Durglo said the SKC Board of Directors plans to address the issue in depth and create a plan for finding and hiring a new president, but this will not take place until the mid-November board meeting.
“After the Nov. 14 board meeting, the board will have a better idea of the process and timeline for selecting a new president,” he said.
While he wasn’t able to offer specifics on the plan prior to the board’s next meeting, Durglo did say SKC is looking for a CSKT member, and that the position requires a master’s degree — but a doctoral degree is preferred.
Durglo said that he didn’t know off-hand how long it took to find Dr. Ross, but “it was a long process. I’m thinking over a year.”
