Travis Scott ‘Moz’ Green

POLSON — Travis Scott Green, known as Moz to many, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 14, 2022, at the age of 54, in his home in Polson, MT.

Born Oct. 18, 1968 to Barbara and Eli Green, Moz grew up in Phoenix, AZ with his sister, Wendi, and their many friends. After graduating from Gerard Catholic High School, Moz earned his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University. During and after his college career, Moz pursued opportunities that allowed his artistic style to flourish. From working on a houseboat to designing graphic T-shirts, these jobs and business dealings were centered around art. Moz maintained his skills as a graphic artist throughout his life.

Moz loved interacting with people and his job history reflects that. He worked at his family’s bookstore, Abracadabra, designed and sold graphic T-shirts, and even followed in his sister’s footsteps and worked at the Phoenix Zoo for a time.

After years of visiting family in the area, Moz moved to Polson in the 2000s. For years, he worked at the UPS store in Polson and later at Delaney’s Landscape Center. He was a regular at Glacier Brewing Company and even worked behind the bar and hosted trivia on occasion. Moz enjoyed participating in discussions and debates and that often started with the familiar phrase, “I have a bone to pick with you…”

Moz was a unique soul who always had a story. He loved his ASU Devils and the Arizona Cardinals and his gift for obscure facts (especially about baseball and music!) was unparalleled. Moz was often seen participating in local trivia nights where he lovingly heckled the poor soul who was hosting that night with outbursts of “Your mom!” or “Fun fact...”

Moz is survived by his mother, Barbara Lee (Stephens) Green and his sister, Wendi (Green) Arnold and her husband, Joe Arnold. Moz is now reunited with his father Eli Green and other loved ones who have passed on.

Friends and family are still adjusting to the sudden loss of Moz in Nov. 2022, but they wish to honor his life and memories with an art gallery at his beloved hang-out spot: Glacier Brewing Company. Moz’s artwork and T-shirts and ties will be on display for purchase from Oct. 11-18 at the brewery. You may purchase artwork with cash or check or contact Wendi at 406-883-0343. Please join us on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 2-6 p.m. at Glacier Brewing for an informal get together with light refreshments to laugh and share memories. Until then, as Moz would say, “Think happy thoughts.”
