POLSON — Joanne and Jim Simpson, and the Polson Senior Center will present: “Living in America: An Immigrant Story of Haiti: From Slavery to the 21st Century” by Mr. Turnier Esperance. Turnier will share the unique story of Haiti at the Center, on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. Those interested may also join us via Zoom. Our annual membership drive kicks off the second week in September. Just think you can get a free banana split when your buy a $15 per year membership in an organization that serves the Senior Community in Polson every day of the year.

AARP Safe Driver Class (no test!) will keep you current on safety for aging drivers on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the center. This video presentation includes a written guide booklet and is presented by a trained group leader. The cost is $25 with discounts for AARP members. 

Activities 

Bingo: $100 payout - games Fridays at 7 p.m. “Playing Card” bingo played on the first and third Wednesday of the month 

Exercise: sitting or standing - M-W-F, 10:30– 11:30 a.m. – free, video-assisted, self-guidance 

Pinochle: Thursdays noon-3 p.m. 

Pool: open table 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. 

Veterans’ Rep: first Friday (Oct. 1) and third Tuesday (Sept. 19) 10 a.m.-noon

MENU (subject to change): A suggested donation of $5 supports the Nutrition Program. Serving from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sit-down or take-out; call before 10 a.m. for delivery. 

—  Wednesday, Sept. 6:  baked chicken, scalloped potatoes, carrots, marinated veggie salad, lemon bars

—  Thursday, Sept. 7: taco, soft shell, refried beans, creamy peach salad, cookie

—  Friday, Sept. 8: pork chops, whipped potatoes, gravy, green beans, Waldorf salad, cake

—  Monday, Sept. 11: chicken wild rice soup, PBJ sandwich, pear/ cheese salad (banana split during the week)

—  Tuesday, Sept.12: hamburger steak, mashed spuds, gravy, mixed veggies, copper penny salad, four-layer desert 

—  Wednesday, Sept. 13: pork tips with gravy and pasta, beets/spiced oranges, cinnamon Jell-O, peach cobbler
