Polson seniors for Aug. 16

POLSON — The Polson Senior Center is accepting applications for a Director of Nutrition. Contact us for details and an application form.

 The annual meeting of the Polson Senior Center, Inc. will be held on Friday, Aug. 25, at 11:30 a.m. at the center. We need your input at this meeting. The annual report will be given and the election of officers and board of directors, and any new business will take place.   

Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver lunch on wheels. Pick your day or days to deliver. Drivers begin at about 10:30 a.m. and finish in about an hour Mondays-Fridays.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are continuing to flow into the Polson Senior Center. We are using everything we get from local growers, and this helps keep our food costs down. Fresh home-grown foods are always the best!


Bingo: $100 payout on blackout guaranteed - bingo games played Fridays at 7 p.m. “Playing Card” bingo is played on the first and third Wednesday of each month 

Exercise:  low impact - M-W-F, 10:30–11:30 a.m. via free informal video-assisted self-guidance  

Pinochle: Thursday: noon- 3 p.m. - free cookies, coffee, new players welcome 

Pool: open table from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays  

Veterans’ Rep: first Friday (Sept. 1) and third Tuesday (Sept. 19) of each month – 10 a.m.-noon

MENU (subject to change): A suggested donation of $5 helps support the Nutrition Program. Meals served from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. sit-down or take-out; call before 10 a.m. for delivery 

—   Thursday, Aug. 17: hot pork sandwich, smashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cantaloupe, cinnamon roll

 —  Friday, Aug. 18: blueberry French toast bake, sausage links, oranges, cookies

 —  Monday, Aug.21:  chili/mac soup, cornbread, green salad, brownies

 —  Tuesday, Aug. 22: chicken with dumplings, carrots and peas, peaches, lime-veggie salad, berry cheesecake

 —  Wednesday, Aug. 23: salad bar, rolls, raspberry fluff

—   Thursday, Aug. 24: pigs in a blanket, potato wedges, coleslaw, cookies

 —  Friday, Aug. 25: annual meeting at 11:30 a.m. - lunch served at noon - birthday lunch honoring members born in August -baked ham, baked sweet potatoes, mixed veggies pineapple salad, cake
