News from the Lake County Fire Mitigation Coordinator

LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Fire Association, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Division of Fire, and Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation will be conducting a joint fire training exercise on May 20 in the Rocky Point area. Expect to see numerous fire apparatus and personnel throughout the day. There will be no live fire as this is a mock training exercise.

This is an important training event which will enhance preparation of local fire entities to meet the demands of the upcoming fire season. With the severity of the past two fire seasons, it has become imperative that local agencies be prepared to assist with wildland fires. The training will provide an opportunity for all agencies who are responsible for fire protection within Lake County to engage in a realistic fire exercise.
