Editor,
When I read about Roger Bordeaux, 60, being sentenced to 20 years, with 15 suspended, for a felony DUI, I realized he could go to prison for five years.
Roger is the most kind-hearted person I’ve ever known. The last time I saw Roger he was having his own little bake sale. I’ve bought things from him because I know it’s for a good cause. Roger holds bake sales to help make ends meet and assist his mother (80-plus years old), who he lives with.
I really can’t see Roger going to prison; it’s just not the place for him. He’s too kind-hearted. I’m sure there are other ways to go about this, perhaps probation or home arrest?
I know little about Roger, only that his mother taught him how to bake at a young age and that he loves to have bake sales. It’s the way he gets to meet new people and help out his mother. I’m sorry to say I don’t know if his mother is with us, but if she is, she’ll be lost without Roger.
