SPOKANE, WASHINGTON — Brenda Pierce Jacklin Adams Lynch passed away on April 5, 2022, in Spokane, Washington. Brenda was born on Feb. 7, 1950, in St. Ignatius, to Nathan M. Pierce and Lettie Kent Pierce. She was the sixth of seven children.
Brenda was close to both her maternal (Annie Talbot Kent) and her paternal (Georgiana Adams Pierce) grandmothers. Although it was only a block away, she moved in with Grandmother Pierce for a time. She often spoke of Grandma Pierce with fondness even in later years.
Brenda lived in and near St. Ignatius where she attended school. In her teens, Brenda spent time living in California, modeling and dancing.
In 1965, Brenda married Dave Jacklin. Dave was a cowboy and the couple spent time on ranches in Montana, Wyoming, and Washington. She was active in these communities fostering children and was instrumental in opening some of Montana’s first senior citizen centers. During this time, her sons Jesse and Frank were born.
Later, Brenda met and married the love of her life, Jerry Lynch. Brenda and Jerry made their home in Airway Heights near Spokane.
Brenda is survived by one son, Jesse James Jacklin; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Jack Albert Pierce (Susie) and Nathan Alan Pierce (Kathy); two sisters, Naett Pierce Sharp and Valerie Pierce Umphrey (Michael); and many nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan M. Pierce and Lettie Kent Pierce Gilbert; her sister, Loa Pierce Carpenter (Bruce); her brother, Leonard Kent Pierce (Connie); her son, Frank Jacklin (Vivanne); and her daughter-in-law, Birgit (Jesse).
After lovingly and selfishly caring for Brenda, her husband, Jerry Lynch, passed away June 3, 2022 - just two months after Brenda’s death.
A celebration of the lives of Brenda and Jerry will be held on Sept. 24, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Good Old Days Pavilion in St. Ignatius. Chicken, burgers, and hotdogs will be served. Salads and desserts would be appreciated, especially if you know of a dish that Brenda or Jerry would have liked.
