Editor,

Before he issued an executive order mandating vaccines for sexually transmitted disease for Texas girls as young as 11, it seems like Rick Perry not only was Al Gore’s Texas campaign manager, but praised Hillary Clinton in a letter written on April 6, 1993, commending her for "Hillary care." This was after he switched from being a Democrat to Republican.

There are many reasons I cannot support Rick Perry. For one, spending went from $45 billion to $90.4 billion from 2000 to 2010, while the debt in Texas went from $13.4 billion to $37.8 billion. When he was in the state legislature he voted more than a dozen times for higher taxes. As governor of Texas, again, he has raised taxes on businesses.

Whether it be Perry, Romney or Obama, the course we are on won’t be changed substantially. They will be taking their orders from the same puppet masters as Obama is presently. We should be asking why the media is in your face promoting Rick Perry. We need a change, but it has to be a real change. What good is it just to go from one face to another and have the same thing done to us over and over again? Obama did not get us to where we are all by himself, although he is guilty of a mountain of reckless spending and bad decisions which has our nation on this train wreck.

I believe the only one who has the wisdom and integrity to restore our once-great nation to its former glory is Ron Paul. He is a true statesman and has been consistent in voting for the values that have sustained America for generations. He has been alone in his votes many times, exemplifying his courage and unyielding faithfulness to his principles. He has been unwavering in his beliefs and understands our problems so well he has predicted more than once the outcomes of Washington’s blunders, much before they were evident, while his colleagues laughed at him. Now many of them concede he was absolutely correct.

We need to restore the values and reputation the United States once had. We have been given a good choice. We need Ron Paul.
