RONAN – The city of Ronan needs voters to switch the mill for the planning levy to be taken back from Lake County and turned back over to the city of Ronan. According to Ronan Mayor Kim Aipperspach, the referendum voting is not adding any new taxes, but is just bringing the planning mill back to the city from the county.
“When we turned it over to the county, we didn’t know what planning consisted of,” Aipperspach said. “The county asked us for info, and we’re basically running it now, so we asked for the planning back.”
To get the planning levy back, the city needs voters’ support to bring it back to the city.
Aippersbach added that Alder Ward 3 two-year term candidate Paul Soukup has left, so there is no need to vote.
