ST. IGNATIUS — Trenna Ferris is among several new faces at St. Ignatius High School this year. Ferris is the new health and physical education and advanced physical education teacher.

Ferris recently moved to Mission from Dillon, Mont. She has worked as a para-professional at the middle school in Dillon for four years. Ferris went to high school in Whitehall, Mont. and graduated from the University of Montana-Western. She is married to Rich Ferris, Mission’s high school football head coach, and they have two boys named Breck, 7, and Braedon, 4.

Ferris enjoys being outdoors, camping, water skiing, running, sports events, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

“I believe that getting students active is the most important thing,” Ferris said. “It doesn’t matter the age, skill level, or talent, but building the knowledge and developing the skills that are needed to be active is the number one goal.” Ferris enjoys working with students and tries to be a positive influence on them by leading an active lifestyle. “I like to help students by giving them the foundation for a lifestyle of physical fitness,” Ferris said.
