ST. IGNATIUS — The Bulldog basketball squad lost 46-42 to nearby opponent the Arlee Warriors on Jan. 5 at home. Junior Sansavere scored five of his 11 points in the third quarter to guide the Warriors and cage the Bulldogs late in the game. Austin Durglo led the Bulldogs’ with 12 points.
Against Bigfork on Jan. 3, Stuart Grant and Dillon Evans fronted the charge in scoring with 12 and 11 respectively. But it wasn’t enough, as Bigfork senior Ian Lorang scored a game-high 15 points to vault the Vikings over St. Ignatius 58-50.
In Missoula on Jan. 7, the Bulldogs faced a strong foe in the Loyola Sacred Heart Rams. The Rams defeated the Bulldogs 62-37 and built their dominance early in the game, outpacing St. Ignatius 36-21 at halftime. Loyola’s J.J. Anderson scored 20 points, and Grant led Mission with nine.
The Bulldogs are now 1-2 in conference play and 2-6 overall. The team faces its next test on Thursday against Ronan and at Troy on Saturday.
