OLSON — Holiday spirit was merry and bright as hundreds of community members lined Main Street in downtown Polson Friday evening to celebrate the 2021 Parade of Lights.
Hosted by the Polson Business Community, the parade featured more than 20 colorful and brightly illuminated floats and vehicles from a variety of local businesses and organizations.
Children collected candy thrown from the festive caravan as it inched its way along Main street.
Winning this year’s Best of Parade float was Cherry Valley Elementary School’s dazzlingly decorated Grinch who stole Christmas float.
Congdon and McMillan Scottish Highlanders were awarded the Most Creative float. The Best Light Display went to the Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Hawaiian themed float, and the Most Humorous Float award went to the Miracle of America Museum’s entry that featured a colorfully lit UFO that spun around in the middle of the street.
Riding in their festively decorated golf cart, holiday celebrities Santa and Mrs. Claus ended the procession waving to children as they zigged zagged from one side of Main Street to the other.
