The Charlo Vikings ended their successful season last weekend as they were downed by Fairview 680 miles away from home. The Vikings jumped out to an early 18-0 lead over the No. 2 ranked Warriors.
Tra Ludeman got the Vikings off to a good start, scoring an early touchdown on a 30-yard run. Soon after, Stephen Delaney added a pair of touchdowns on passes of 32 and 21 yards from Ludeman.
Fairview began heating up as Scott Andreasen returned a kickoff for 75 yards, giving new energy to the Warriors. Fairview scored an additional two touchdowns with a 5-yard pass to Cody Vitt and a 6-yard run by Brock Schriver, giving Fairview a 20-18 lead at halftime.
Charlo fired back after the break as Jacen Petersen pulled down a 25-yard pass from Ludeman, followed by a successful two-point conversion pass to Petersen, giving Charlo a brief 26-20 lead.
Ludeman scored one final touchdown of 34 yards for the Vikings, while Fairview’s Schriver scored on runs of 6, 1 and 4 yards to edge Charlo 40-32. The Vikings finished the season with a respectable 8-3 record.
