Walmart accuses employee of theft

A Lake County man is accused of abusing his position as a store clerk to steal from his employer.
Aloysius Dennis Blackcrow, 50, entered a plea of not guilty at District Court in Polson on July 29 to felony counts of theft and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
According to court records, on March 29, Polson police were called to investigate a suspected theft at the Polson Walmart. The security officer at the scene told a responding officer that a certain till kept coming up short on days Blackcrow worked. A check of surveillance allegedly shows Blackcrow “palm” bills, give cigarettes to certain patrons and take merchandise from the store starting March 1. An estimated $5,830 in cash was taken, along with more than $10,000 in merchandise.
Blackcrow’s wife was identified as one of the receivers of some of the stolen items. More allegedly stolen items were located at the couple’s home.
Blackcrow was arrested on the theft charge on March 29. Police say they found a baggie of methamphetamine in the back seat of the patrol car where Blackcrow was sitting.
Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher set a trial date for Dec. 6.
