The Lake County Commissioners are hosting a retirement party for Commissioner Dave Stipe from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, July 29, in the commissioners’ chambers. The public is invited.
Stipe, a Ronan area rancher, has served the commission for more than 16 years, first from 1993 through 2005, and again beginning in 2017. He’s retiring July 31 due to health issues (stay tuned for a profile in next week’s VJ).
According to County Commissioner Gale Decker, the Lake County Republican Central Committee has conducted interviews with possible replacements and forwarded three names for the commission to choose from: Dan Kramer, Steve Stanley and Frank Delgado.
The commissioners are scheduled to make an appointment at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Since Stipe’s term ends in 2022, his seat will appear on the ballot next year.
