RONAN — The 2021 Lake County Fair, themed “Yee Haw Mardi Gras,” got underway earlier this week and will continue through the weekend at the fairgrounds in Ronan.
On Wednesday, July 21, a family-style dinner is on tap at 5 p.m., followed by the market livestock weigh-in and open-class judging.
Among the events taking place on Thursday are market swine and showmanship; sheep showmanship and breeding; market beef judging; a cat show and fashion show. The day closes out with a small-fry stock show at 5 p.m. and market livestock sale at 7 p.m.
Fair action continues on Friday with poultry judging and showmanship, as well as a horse show and rabbit judging and showmanship.
At the K. William Harvey Elementary gym in Ronan, the two-day Mission Mountain Quilt Guild show begins. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. each day.
The day ends with a crabfest hosted by Ronan Chamber of Commerce, which begins at 5 p.m. The Ambassador Dance is from 9-11 p.m.
Saturday events include beef and dairy showmanship; goat judging and showmanship, followed by the Ranch Rodeo at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, the fair concludes as cowgirls and cowboys race for the fastest time and top prize money during the NBHA Barrel Race.
