Pirates improve to 3-1 with win over Broncs

The Polson Pirates ended the calendar year on a high note Thursday evening as they upended Frenchtown 78-64 at home, improving to 3-1 overall. The Pirates had a trio of double-digit scorers as Zach Camel, Tyler Krell and Vince DiGiallonardo paved the way toward the Northwestern A victory.

The Broncs jumped out to a quick 15-13 lead in the first quarter, but the Pirates rallied in the second quarter, outscoring Frenchtown 23-14.

The Pirates continued to fare well on offense in the third quarter, scoring an additional 24 to Frenchtown’s 14 as the Pirates rolled to a 78-64 win.

Camel led all scorers with 19 points, while Vince DiGiallonardo followed close behind with 18.

Tyler Krell followed up his incredible performance against Hamilton with 14 against the Broncs.

Frenchtown’s John Chapman and Mark Lebsock finished the game with 13 points each, while Austin Blank led his team with 14.

Polson will take the court on Jan. 6 at Loyola to continue the road to State.
