BIGFORK — Tabletree Cherry Juice has won the silver award in the Juices and Beverages category as part of the Specialty Food Association’s 2021 sofi™ Awards, a top honor in the $158 billion specialty food industry.
Tabletree Cherry Juice was one of 130 winners selected from nearly 1,500 entries across 49 product categories. The sofi judging was held at the prestigious Rutgers Food Innovation Center in April following strict safety guidelines.
“We are so excited that Tabletree Cherry Juice has won this award. Winning a sofi award and being recognized by the industry for our commitment to quality and flavor is a huge honor. The sofi Award is the ultimate stamp of approval and we are so proud to claim the silver this year.”
Gov. Gianforte ends equipment tax burden
HELENA — At Golden Triangle Brew Co. in Fort Benton, Governor Greg Gianforte today signed a bill that relieves thousands of Montana businesses of the burden of paying the business equipment tax.
“Over the last four months, we’ve made great progress to reform our tax system so Montana’s Main Street businesses can thrive,” Gov. Gianforte said. “By tripling the business equipment tax exemption, we’re helping our small business owners, farmers, and ranchers keep more of what they earn to grow their companies and create jobs. I thank Rep. Josh Kassmier for his leadership in leading this bill through the legislature.”
A signature element of the governor’s Montana Comeback Plan, the BIG Jobs Act triples the business equipment tax exemption.
Sponsored by Rep. Josh Kassmier (R-Fort Benton), House Bill 303 raises the business equipment tax exemption from $100,000 to $300,000.
“Raising the business equipment tax exemption to $300,000 will help small businesses across Montana save money, invest into their businesses, and be more competitive. This will also help stimulate local economies,” Rep. Kassmier said. “The BIG Jobs Act is a big win for small businesses in Montana, and I appreciate Governor Gianforte working on this important piece of legislation with me.”
Daines’ bill allows cannabis businesses access to banks
News from the office of Senator Daines
U.S. SENATE — Senator Daines’ “SAFE Banking Act,” allows legal cannabis businesses to have access to banks and other financial institutions. Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter explained how Daines’ bill will increase public safety and reduce crime in communities.
Today, many legal cannabis businesses are forced to operate in all cash. Daines’ bill changes that by allowing legal cannabis businesses to have access to financial institutions.
“Senator Daines is taking a very responsible and logical step to ensure public safety is key. And truly what he’s doing is looking out not only for the citizens, but he’s looking out for me (too) because it enhances my ability to protect the public,” said Sheriff Slaughter.
