RONAN – The Ronan Chiefs fell to 2-3 overall on the season after Loyola rallied in the second half to pull out a 47-42 victory at the Ronan Event Center Dec. 20. The high energy basketball game was an all-out battle, as Ronan had a lot to prove against the No. 7 conference ranked Rams.
Ronan led early with a 14-9 advantage at the beginning of the second quarter, eventually growing to a 24-21 lead at the half. The Rams picked up their offensive presence in the third, outscoring Ronan 13-6. Loyola went 18 for 32 from the free-throw line down the stretch to outlast the Chiefs, 47-42.
Ronan was led by Robbie Gauthier who finished with a team-high 11 points, while Brady Oakland added eight.
Teammate Zach Wagner finished with six.
The Rams were led by Josh Janssen, who scored 23 points in the win.
