Woman faces two trials for drug charges

A Pablo woman, who was already facing a drug possession charge in Lake County, is now facing the more serious offense of distributing drugs.
Dolly Blue Zambrana, 44, entered a plea of not guilty at District Court in Polson on March 25 to criminal possession with intent to distribute.
According to court records, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant on Zambrana’s residence on Feb. 1 after an investigation found that a high number of individuals, known to use drugs, were coming and going from the location.
Officers located and seized 26 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale with meth residue on it from one bedroom. More meth and syringes were located in a second bedroom. Officers also located a stolen generator at the residence.
Zambrana was already facing one count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs as the result of a search warrant executed at the same residence on Feb. 5, 2020, and during the search, officers located syringes loaded with meth and two digital scales.
Zambrana had been at liberty after posting bond in the first matter, but prosecutor James Lapotka, with the Lake County Attorney’s office, requested Zambrana’s bond amount be increased to $75,000 because her name keeps coming up in various drug investigations. Lapotka added that Zambrana is getting people as young as 18 years old to help her distribute meth.
Judge Deborah “Kim” Christopher granted Lapotka’s request and set a trial date for Oct. 25 on the new charge. A plea agreement offered by the state in the first drug possession charge has been withdrawn and it was also set for trial on Oct. 25.
