CHARLO — The Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana will sponsor a book chat starting on Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at the museum. “Sarpy Creek” is the book being read. Snacks are provided at the book chat. Social distancing is required and masks are encouraged.
Discussions will follow the three consecutive Tuesday readings, after the initial meeting. The part-one discussion will cover pages 1-75.
“Sarpy Creek” was first published in the 1930s and became obscure until it was rediscovered in l988 and published again. It is considered one of Montana’s best novels. It is a fictional book about an eastern Montana ranching family during the drought-stricken years of the 1930s.
Even now, the book is hard to find. Call Donna at 406-676-2837 to sign up and obtain a copy, if you cannot find one.
