RONAN — Ronan softball standout Macao Jackson signed her national letter of intent to play collegiate softball for the Columbia Basin College Hawks, located in Pasco, Washington.
Late Wednesday afternoon, family, friends and teammates joined Jackson to celebrate the occasion, held in Ronan High School’s event center.
According to Jackson, the Hawks’ coaching staff was a main reason why she chose CBC over other schools. The campus and the college’s academic programs also played a large part in her decision.
“The coaches were super awesome and just outgoing,” said the Ronan Maiden ace pitcher. “They made me feel very comfortable very quickly and I could just see myself playing there.”
Jackson is an all-state and all-conference first-team selection and plans to pursue a degree at CBC that will allow her to work in the exercise science field.
Jackson is looking forward to getting back on the field this season with her fellow Maidens and making one final run at winning the state tournament after the pandemic cost her the majority of her junior year season.
