The name Enzo means head of the house, and in Enzo Steven Stinger’s case, it might be true, especially since new babies tend to rule the household.
Enzo was the first baby born in Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center in 2012.
At 8 pounds, 11 ounces, Enzo was brought into the world Monday, Jan. 2 at 3:17 p.m. Proud parents are Kori and Kyle Stinger of Polson. Enzo also joins two sisters, Bentley, a fourth-grader, and Reegan, a second-grader.
Kori said she had a pretty easy labor with Enzo, and Dr. Jamie Straub delivered him.
Older sister Bentley has a car name, and Kori and Kyle chose “Enzo” because Enzo Ferrari founded the famed Italian car company. Steven comes from Kori’s dad, Steve Vert Sr. Reegan’s name is special because it is her mother’s and her grandmother’s, Cindy Jo Platt’s, middle name.
“We thought we might not have any more kids,” Kori said, “because we have these two perfect little girls, and they are good kids.”
But as it turns out, the couple decided to try for one more and along came Enzo. “We were really excited it was a boy,” Kori said, patting Enzo’s tiny back as he snuggled on her shoulder.
While the rest of the Stingers have dark hair, young Enzo is blond with blue eyes. Kori hopes his eyes will stay blue. She’s sure his hair will get dark, and she thinks blue eyes and dark hair are a striking combination.
Having a baby brother “is cool,” according to Bentley. Enzo is warm and snuggly and has “angel kisses,” small red marks many babies are born with, on his neck and head. Reegan and Bentley also have angel kisses on their heads.
Both girls will be good help, Kori said, as soon as Enzo gets a little bigger. He already likes to watch his sisters and is alert when he’s awake.
“Enzo is a really good baby,” Kori said, adding that he likes when his daddy sings to him about what a good boy he is and that his name is Enzo.
The first grandson for Vert, Kori said her father calls every day or so to see how the family is doing.
Kyle’s mother, Jessie Stinger, has been assisting the family and “helped us a lot,” Kori said, getting up in the middle of the night with Enzo so Kori could get some sleep.
Paternal grandparents are Jessie Stinger and David Stinger of Polson. Great-grandparent is Donna Bahm of Polson. Maternal grandparents are the late Cindy Platt of Polson and Steve Vert Sr. of Polson. Great-grandparents are Vivian and Keith Ross and Wes and Madge Vert of Polson.
The family plans a “Meet Enzo” party this weekend, complete with an Italian dinner, to welcome the newest addition.
