Trial dates set for endangerment case

A Browning man, with ties to the Mission Valley, agreed to plead guilty to one count of felony criminal endangerment in exchange for four other counts of the same charge to be dismissed at sentencing.
Raymond James Head, 34, is accused of leading law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit with five children, ranging in age from three to twelve years, in his car before crashing and rendering it inoperable.
The incident happened in the Turtle Lake area on March 19. Officers were initially called to a report of a man holding a woman against her will in a vehicle. Head was located driving a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the alleged kidnapping. Law enforcement attempted to stop the vehicle without success and a pursuit began.
Head agreed to enter the plea agreement at District Court in Polson on Dec. 9, which was the same day he entered a plea of not guilty to felony DUI in a separate matter.
Judge James Manley set sentencing on the endangerment case for Jan. 27 and a trial date of June 1 on the DUI case.
