Justice of the Peace Chuck Wall dealt with the following cases Feb. 10-16:
Jaycen Lee Paul, 41, pleaded not guilty to reckless driving, first offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, 179 suspended, and fined $300 plus $35 in court costs.
Cathy Elaine Jasso, 49, pleaded not guilty to the amended offense of operating a motor vehicle with alcohol concentration of .08 percent BAC or greater, first offense. She was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $400 plus $85 in court costs. Jasso also pleaded not guilty to the amended offense of driving without a valid driver’s license. She was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs.
Kendra S. Gonzalez, 30, pleaded no contest to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle, owner or operator, first offense. She was fined $150 plus $35 in court costs. Gonzalez also pleaded no contest to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. She was fined $250 plus $35 in court costs.
Floyd Clark Florek, 50, pleaded guilty to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle, owner or operator, second offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, 178 suspended, and fined $350 plus $35 in court costs. If Florek provides proof of six months’ continuous insurance, jail will be waived.
