FLATHEAD RESERVATION — The Flathead Reservation Fish and Wildlife Board and CSKT Tribal Council are looking for public input on proposed changes to the 2021-22 fishing, bird hunting and recreation regulations. A temporary regulation is requested to begin the proposed regulation immediately.
The proposed changes to the hunting regulations are as follows:
Current language: annual fall bird hunting closure of tribal lands in the Millie’s Woods area from Sept. 1 to Dec. 1.
Proposed changes: annual fall bird hunting closure of tribal lands in the Millie’s Woods area from Sept. 1 through Jan. 30 of each year.
The Division of Fish, Wildlife Recreation and Conservation will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. at the division office at 406 6th Avenue East in Polson.
Written comments on the proposed changes may also be sent to Craig Morigeau, Flathead Indian Reservation Fish and Wildlife Advisory Board Chair, 406 6th Avenue East, Polson, Montana, 59860.
Comments will be accepted if postmarked no later than Thursday, Nov. 19. Any person who desires to present oral comment may do so at the public hearing.
